A Word (or several) About Family

We've all been in the pressure cooker of life.
We’ve all been in the pressure cooker of life.

The past three years have been, for our extended family, quite a test of character.  For Peg and I it was making retirement decisions, getting that big albatross of a house sold, and making the transition from being brick & stick dwellers to mobile wanderers.  For Kathryn and Michael (our daughter and son-in-law) it was trying to buy our school but realizing it was a dream that would never happen because of zoning problems; then the finding of a better industrial building for Michaels business; and eventually realizing that the building would make a wonderful dual use home and business.  In under 30 days ‘the kids’ will close on their dream.  And our grand daughter Melanie is now off in Chicago starting her new life after graduating just 2 months ago.  It has truly been a tumultuous time.

I’m proud of all of them; we have all learned and grown through the experience but given that special bond between fathers and daughters I am especially proud of our daughter Kathryn.  She has grown into such an amazing woman, and wife and mother.  She has a huge heart that reaches out to the staff who work for her and to those reaching the end of their life at the hospice for which she volunteers (although with the confusion of the last few months her ability to help out there has been reduced)

But today I just want to express my appreciation of her in images, and share some of our family snapshots of her through the years.  Enjoy, please.   She’s the joy of my life and she’s been a blessing to the lives of many, many souls along the way.

Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll talk with you tomorrow…
