Spy creatures

Keep your eyes peeled for a program on PBS. The Nature series is doing work using “spy creatures”  to get more and more intimate looks at wildlife and the work is fascinating. We are learning things about animals that would have been thought impossible a few years ago. We’re learning that they are smarter and more socially responsible than we ever gave them credit for being; in some ways more humane than humans.   http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/spy-wild-spy-wild-creature-cards/14791/

When you see scenes like this:

it’s not just long lenses that capture them.

Here’s a shot of baby hippo spy…  out of the water and in the water.  He’s animatronic, he both floats / swims and walks on dry land. img_2286  img_2285

There are other creatures in the animatronic family.  There is Spy Egretimg_2288-1and Spy Bush Babyimg_2290-1

and spy crocodile img_2289-1

If you see the program on TV do watch it.  It’s fascinating.
