Birding on S. Padre Island

This time of year, birding in S. Texas is a bit anticlimactic.  Many of the species which winter here have left for their summer nesting grounds and we are left with much quieter wetlands and refuges.  There are still plenty of birds; it’s just that they are a little more predictably year round residents.  It’s nesting time for those that are and on this trip to the SPI Birding Center we caught some moms/pops on nests as well as a sort of usual round of characters.

So, today I’m going to let the birds do the talking.
