The Home Stretch

homestretchWednesday was just down and dirty driving.  About 500 miles, all familiar highway, the sun shining once again and (BRRRRRRR) we are back in the land of cold and (usually but not this year) snow!  I’m almost wishing I brought along a warmer coat but I’ll make do with layers!

Not much to say today.  We were all itchy to be done with the trip.  These quickie trips to anywhere are never as much “fun” as a leisurely wander from place to place but they serve a purpose.  And a good one at that.

Thursday will be busy with a visit with our financial guy in Milwaukee, a trip to the lock shop to see whether my good friends at Quality Lock & Safe can help me out with a special request for the house in Los Fresnos and then some rooting around on sections of industrial shelving to see whether we can find the items we intend to bring back to Texas with us.  As we travelled North Peggy asked me about my “good” office chair — and I had completely forgotten about it.  We had purchased a light weight one someplace along the way since going full time in the coach — and it’s been “ok” but not a great chair to spend much time in.  Now I have to rethink my strategy for packing the car!  I think that will be among the items returning with us.

That’s it for today.  Thanks for stopping and I’ll be here again tomorrow.  Why not stop and see what’s up?

    1. My good office chair was way too cumbersome for the coach — so a couple years ago we bought an el-cheapo from Staples for our “travel years” — my good one (put into storage in MKE) takes up too much of the CR-V — but I’m making the sacrifice of space for the delightful comfort of easy sitting in my office. Can’t wait to get it home and let my body we re-acquainted with it. 🙂 It’s almost an orgasmic thought.

  1. Do you have a hitch on the CR-V? Might be U-Haul trailer time! Safe travels! I know you are not writing in “real” time right now, so am hoping you will be avoiding the winter storm due here in MN on the 23rd.

    1. Yup — have hitch.
Complication…. don’t know where the tongue is — I thought we stored it in MKE, family there can’t find it. Might have to check our shed in Los Fresnos to see if it’s there and we missed it.
There will be other trips and other opportunities. 🙂
